Our grant figure is computed as follows: the rate at which motions were made and disposed of in our data was 22.8% (see supra text following note 43); the rate at which motions were fully granted in our data was 187/294 = 63.6% (see supra Table 1, showing a denial rate of 36.4%). Thus the rate of grants in our data was 22.8% x 63.6% = 14.5% of all cases.
